Happy Birthday Weekend!

Greetings! James and I had a nice weekend at home. It was our first weekend off together since Superbowl. Saturday was my 31st b-day. James took me to get a massage then we at lunch afterwards at Pita Jungle. If you haven't been there- I recommend it. On the door it says, "The art of eating healthy". It is basically mediterranean food and it's very fresh and healthy and most importantly YUMMY. It's my new favorite place. And by the way- it was relatively inexpensive- James and I ate for $23- After lunch we went to the movies. This was the 3rd time we have gone to the movies together in more than 3 years together. We saw Slumdog Millionaire just in time for the Oscars! It was good. I am glad we saw it. I still want to see The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

On Sunday, we got a lot done. I cleaned the office and it was a disaster. It's nice to go in there and not have 'stuff' everywhere. That is our next project- re-doing the flooring, painting the walls, new office furniture, new window coverings, the works! I can't wait. We are still fighting off the cold/flu that we've been struggling with for the past 2 weeks. James unfortunately caught it from me. He is battling it now from home.

A Special Moment

Sam and Phoenix cuddled on the couch tonight while watching 'Heroes' together. Sam didn't want to cooperate while I was snapping pics but I threatened that I would just keep clicking the flash and taking pics until he smiled. Phoenix has to be at least 70 pounds if not 80 and loves to cuddle like a lap dog. You can thank James later for the nice shot of his feet in there....

ALL- STAR WEEKEND, Phoenix Style!

Greetings from Downtown Phoenix, home of the 2009 NBA All-Star Weekend. I will try and stay positive when I describe the last 3 days. James has stayed overnight in the hotel for the past 2 nights to ensure Security with all the craziness. I have brought him clothes each morning. The volume of people downtown has been insane, traffic, parking, etc is indescribable. I have had a bad cold since I've been back from Oklahoma and spent the entire day in bed on Wednesday. I am functioning now but not 100%. There's a ton a famous basketball people everywhere but I couldn't tell you one famous basketball person if I saw one. If I had a choice between Superbowl and NBA All Star weekend, I would choose Superbowl 1000 times over NBA All Stars! The clientele for superbowl were much nicer.

We have 'rescheduled' Valentine's day for next Saturday in conjunction with my B-day. Very excited- we think we are going to head up to Sedona. There's not much else to say except we are working like crazy and I am very thankful for that. I prefer to look on the bright side of things. We hope all of you enjoyed your Valentine's Day- remember EVERY or ANY day can be Valentine's day.

Mel's in Oklahoma!

On Sunday, Mel flew to Oklahoma City with 3 others from work. Most of you know that I prefer not to travel without the hubby but when it's with work, I have no choice. The plus is that it's only 2 nights and I will be back late on Tuesday night. We got into OKC around 3 pm and the 4 of us decided to atleast do SOME touristy stuff since we were there anyway. We headed toward the National Oklahoma City Memorial. I am glad we did- I have pics and it was well worth it. I will post the pics as soon as I'm home. Then we headed over to 'Bricktown' to check out what the city had to offer. It was a cute little area with a huge movie theatre, a canal where you can take a boat and the Ford Center where the OKC Thunder play- OKC's NBA team. It just so happens that as we were walking around, we were offered FREE tickets to the game- They played The Sacramento Kings. We went to the last 1/2 of the game and it was action packed. Before the game we ate at Toby Keith's I Love this Bar and Grill. It was good- good food and service. It's MONDAY- and we are training all day and all day tomorrow. I will post pics and more when I am home!

SUPER BOWL XLIII

James and I went to the Wilke's house for the big game. Had a great time. Lots of food, drinks, even a pool that we got in on but didn't win. Shannon is the hostest with the mostest and here are some pics of the food and friends. As for the game---- I am sure you will agree with us when we say we are proud of the Cardinals. The officials weren't very nice to them but at least it wasn't a blow out. I hope Kurt Warner comes back next year.
