I was able to spend an evening along in OB. Got a pedicure, got some chinese food to-go. Room Service was getting old and I needed a change of pace!

Ocean Beach
I have liked OB for some time now. For the past 5 weeks, living in San Diego has been interesting. I have been able to do and see some things that I probably never would have seen and done, not having this experience. Pictured above is the beach from OB.

Mating season
I am living on the 2nd floor of a beautiful hotel in San Diego! That means I get early morning wake up calls by wildlife!! In the pic above you can see the nest with 2 seagull eggs. The pic below, you can see 2 engineers taking care of the nuisance! When I would open the balcony door, the mama sitting on her eggs would squak like heck at me! I am a little sad but, lets be honest, seagulls are rats with wings.

Home is where your honey is!
Home for a quick weekend, filling my tank. So good to see my babies, cook for my family and sleep in my own bed. I made this salad Saturday night. This is the chicken strip salad with Marie's poppyseed dressing. Consists of mixed greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, green onions, chicken strips, hard boiled eggs, bacon, cheddar cheese and the yummy dressing! We stopped by Cane's to get chicken strips and thier texas toast. Yummy, Yummy!

The little things

Visitors
Seeing friendly and familiar faces that know me, really helps with the homesickness. Definitely a highlight to see my peeps!
Enjoying the scenery
I am trying to enjoy the little things while I am here. The bay, the beach, the weather. I love it all. It's easy to take these things for granted when you are missing home. Home is where you're honey is! I miss my babies, I miss EVERYTHING!
I worked out the other day. All this room service food is not so great for the waistline. I guess I have also been a bit depressed and off balance since I am away from home and from my routine. So, after my workout, I got some coffee, sat on this chaise lounger outside the fitness center and drank it all in. Listened to the seals bark, breathed in the salty air and enjoyed every minute of it!
Jimmy's Birthday weekend
We had planned a get away to southern AZ- but we ended up in San Diego! My first week of work, found me missing the hubby's birthday. He had some extra days off so he made his way over here. Since I flew here, he drove the truck and left it here for me. We enjoyed the weekend together. Visited some of our fave spots- La Jolla, Mission Beach, San Diego Swap meet. When Sunday rolled around and it was time to drop him off at the airport- I WAS NOT READY! I cried when he walked into the doors at the terminal! This stint away from home has definitely put things into perspective!
Life on the Road
I have been working away from home since 4/15. I jumped at the opportunity to assist another hotel in San Diego! It's a hotel that is near and dear to my heart. It's the place that James and I stayed when we got engaged!
This is my first dinner in my room! Shrimp cocktail and the fiesta salad. The food here is amazing and I never thought I would say- IT'S GETTING OLD!!! I will try and document how things are going and how my life is. It has been a full 2 weeks- going on 3 weeks and I am very home sick! I miss my babies, sleeping in my own bed, watching my shows that are recorded, cooking meals at home, doing my own laundry and driving home from work!!! I cannot escape. The job overall has been rewarding but very demanding!
