Last night I went to the Sarah Mclachlan concert with a couple of amazing ladies. The music was amazing and brought back a lot of old feelings and memories. Sarah played with Butterfly Boucher and Melissa McClelland. I loved the concert and I loved that it motivated me to get my 4 Sarah albums uploaded to itunes so I could enjoy it on my iphone.
It also made me remember my mom's funeral service. My old roommate, Anne made the most beautiful DVD with pictures and music. (Anne is an amazing woman and literally the most generous and loving person I have met). One of the songs was Sarah's I will remember you. The video is about 3 minutes long with pictures spanning my mother's life. It's very touching and I still watch it from time to time. (James does NOT like me to watch it as he knows I miss her but I think it's therapeutic in a way). So that got me thinking about the sound track of my life and what songs I would want played at my funeral service.
I know I want the song "Spirit in the Sky" by Norman Greenbaum played because it's upbeat and the lyrics are just hilarious. Click here if you would like to listen/watch. I also love the song, 'Kind and Generous' by Natalie Merchant. Click here for a view. I know it may be morbid to think about things like what songs will be played at your own funeral or what the soundtrack of your life is but I love music and if I listen to a certain song, it can take me back to where I was at a certain time in my life. So, I will continue to love music and continue to make my 'playlist'. What's on your ipod?
